Job Title:Outpatient Pharmacist
Location:Fairfax - VA Virginia - USA
Job Description:Location: Fort Belvoir, VA
Reports To: Chief of Staff
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Manage the workflow for a busy pharmacy during the assigned
shift. Manage patient priority and direct technical staff to ensure
efficient, timely and accurate filling prescriptions for more than 100
patients per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Daily interactions with prescribers, pharmacist interventions,
counter dealing, formulary review, drug utilization and
cost effectiveness studies, patient education, prevention of adverse
outcomes, monitoring for poly-pharmacy patients.
2. Ensure appropriate quality control measures are being followed in
the pharmacy.
3. Ensure adherence to all applicable Army Federal and local pharmacy
regulations.
4. Ensure appropriate safe measures are used in the filing of
automation as well as the day-to-day use.
5. Conduct prospective drug utilization reviews prior to dispensing
prescriptions to ensure there are no significant
drug/drug, drug/food or drug/lab interactions.
6. Other duties may be assigned.
Education/Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy. Must be
actively involved in practicing for at least 16 hours each week for 48
of the last 52 weeks.
Licenses and Certifications:
Licensure as a Pharmacist is required. Must have a current BCLS. The
American Heart Association BCLS card is the standard for the DeWitt
Health Care Network and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.
